\nOur day ended without any common agreement amongst us, but it made me realize that we don't have a common definition either. What does student engagement look like and sound like? \nFor example, I notice a Delta in a classroom and note that in the "Comment" section before giving the teacher a copy. We would hope that the teacher makes changes in the classroom\/instruction. If I go in the following week, I can check to see if that, indeed, did happen.

\nThis is a way to communicate without meeting face-to-face. It'll also give us some data on what's going on in the classrooms.

\nWe cannot use Walkthrough data when we evaluate a teacher using PEP-T. However, we can use this data during discussions with the teacher.

\nWe'd have to commit to writing comments each week (at least in the beginning) so we can see any trends. They were all doing different activities and for the most part, students were participating in the lessons. I always enjoy seeing Ms. Todd's cooperative learning activities, an Ms. Matsukawa had her students sharing their writing and having their peers give feedback. I was impressed with the student comments so early in the year.

\nI suggested that Brian visit classrooms first without the walkthrough form.

I really enjoyed watching the classrooms in action. First grade classrooms were primarily working in whole group reading instruction.
