One of the key components of school reform for the Obama administration is extending the school day. We have heard comments from parents about how we in Hawaii have a short school day (and now it's 17 fewer days as well).

I came up with an idea to extend M, T, Th, and F by 30 minutes. I've attached a sample schedule for kindergarten and will work on the other grade levels as well.

It might be difficult to understand . . . we can discuss.

This would probably require HSTA approval since it affects early morning prep time (which I think is still in the contract).

Any feedback?
